Stock Condition Surveys

Stock Condition Surveys are a broad-brush appraisal of a property portfolio usually based on a sample of the stock.  The percentage may vary depending on the composition of the portfolio.  Housing estates of uniform age and design might require a sample of 1 in 10 or 1 in 15 to be examined, and likely common problems and repair costs extrapolated from the sample.

A more complex property portfolio may require a different approach.

Stock condition surveys may be used by existing management where insufficient information is available either through lost, badly kept or out of date records; or by purchasers in a portfolio acquisition and larger scale housing stock transfers.
